Official Rules for S.A.D. Story Contest

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

1. ELIGIBILITY: This contest is open only to legal residents of the continental U.S., who are 18 years of age or older as of November 3, 2011. Contest is not open to employees of The Lite Source, sponsors, their employees, or the employees' immediate family members. Employees and immediate family members of any of Sponsor’s parent companies, affiliated companies, licensees, advertising or promotional agencies, or sponsors are also ineligible. Void where prohibited.

2. TO ENTER: Contest begins on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. (ET), and ends Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. (ET) (the "Contest Period"). Here’s how to enter:

Submit your 500-word-or-less story about your dealings with Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.) along with your full name, address, date of birth, contact phone number and email address to: customerservice@thelitesource.com during the Contest Period by or before 11:59 p.m. (ET) on December 3, 2011. There is only one contest entry per person. Entries that do not include all required information will be disqualified. All entrants must have a two-way capable email service to enter the contest. Entrants will be sent an email message to confirm or reject entry into the contest. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entry at any time that in sponsor’s opinion does not comply with these Official Rules. Sponsor is not responsible for unavailability of internet connections, email service or any other technical malfunctions causing messages or entry transmission failures.

Copies or other mechanical reproductions, facsimiles, entries containing electronic or technical reproductions and entries containing attached files are all ineligible and will be rejected. In the event of a disagreement regarding the identity of an entrant, the holder of the email account will be deemed the person who submitted the entry. Entries become the exclusive property of Sponsors and will not be returned or acknowledged.

3. GENERAL ENTRY RESTRICTIONS: Only entries complying with the entry rules shall be counted in the contest. Online entrants must use his or her real name. By entering, contestants agree to be bound by and comply with these Official Rules. Only one entry per person will be allowed.  Subsequent entries from the same person or originating from a single e-mail address will be disqualified. Sponsors are not responsible for lost, damaged, unfinished, illegible, delayed, or misdirected entries, or for errors in mechanical transmission, unavailability of dial-up, LAN, DSL, or HSD internet connections, cellular phone service, or any other technical malfunctions or inability to transmit entries. Sponsor is not responsible for failed, partial, deleted or distorted computer or network transmissions, inability to access any website or online service, or any other malfunction or error or late, lost, or misdirected entries.

4. SELECTION OF WINNERS: All online entries will be read by a panel of judges who will select three winning entries. Winners are subject to verification and compliance with these rules. Sponsors will attempt to notify the winners by email within one week after the contest end date of 12/03/11. A winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected by random drawing from among all remaining entries if (1) a winner does not respond via email to claim his or her prize within 15 days of the first notification attempt; (2) a winner does not fulfill the eligibility requirements; (3) a winner does not adhere to the Official Rules; and/or (4) if the prize notification is returned as undeliverable, refused, or declined. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for that drawing.

5. PRIZES & PRIZE RESTRICTIONS:
- Three prize # winners will each receive a lamp from The Lite Source.
* Each winner is solely responsible for any applicable federal, state and local taxes in connection with winner's prize. Prize substitutions are not allowed, and prizes are nontransferable. Only Sponsor may elect, at their discretion, to substitute a prize of greater or equal value due to lack of availability for any specified reason. Prizes are awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by sponsor. All properly claimed prizes will be awarded, but in no event will sponsor award more prizes than are provided for in these Official Rules.

6. FURTHER REGULATIONS: Contestants agree Sponsor has the sole right to decide all matters and disputes arising from this contest and that their decisions are final and binding. Except where prohibited by law, entrants agree to allow use of their name, voice, photograph, likeness and any information provided on entry form, in any medium of communication, including print, Internet, radio and/or television and for any purpose, including advertising, promotional or other purposes, by Sponsor and/or its affiliates, without additional compensation. Winners, by acceptance of a prize, agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless the sponsors, its parent company and affiliates, and each of the its employees, representatives, contractors, sponsors and advertisers, from any and all liability, losses of any kind, damage, causes of action, costs or claims related to any allegation regarding the award of, the receipt of, or the use of the prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, property damage, defamation, infringement, of intellectual property rights and claims based on the rights of publicity and privacy. Winners may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and release of publicity and liability prior to receiving their prize. Sponsor reserves the right to delay contest announcements, or to postpone or reschedule certain of the contest events for whatever reason.

7. GENERAL CONDITIONS: If for any reason the Internet portion of this contest is not capable of running as planned, or if the Internet portion of this contest or any website associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper playing of the Internet portion of this Contest and processing of entries in accordance with these rules, or if infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes, in the Sponsor’s sole opinion, corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Internet portion of this contest, the Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual implicated in such action and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Internet portion of this Contest. If such cancellation, termination, modification, or suspension occurs, notification will be posted at the contest website. ANY ATTEMPT TO DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE FAIR AND LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE CONTEST. Contest rules shall be governed and enforced pursuant to Florida law, excluding choice of law provisions. Sponsor reserves the right to prohibit any entrant from participating in the contest if, at its sole discretion, Sponsor finds such entrant to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the contest, or if such entrant repeatedly shows a disregard for, or attempts to circumvent, these Official Rules, or acts: (a) in a manner the Sponsor determines to be not fair or equitable; (b) with an intent to annoy, threaten or harass any other entrant or Sponsor; or (c) in any other disruptive manner. Sponsor assumes no liability for (a) any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, or for any faulty, failed, distorted or jumbled electronic data transmissions; (b) any unauthorized access to, or theft, destruction or alteration of entries at any point in the operation of this Contest; (c) any technical malfunction, failure, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, networks, systems, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilized in any aspect of the operation of the contest; or (d) inaccessibility or unavailability of the Internet or the contest website or any combination thereof.
